Collecting seaweed on Jambiani beach, Zanzibar
Here's a new picture of African women collecting seaweed on Jambiani beach, Zanzibar. The small poles are used to tie the seaweed on them, and the seaweed is left there to grow for a couple of months till it is fully grown. It was very nice actually seeing the local women with their young girls work here and at the same time enjoying the sun and the tourqoise shades of the spectacular Indian ocean. The contact with the locals made the experience in Jambiani even more interesting and real.
